Things to know before you go!

Here’s some things we’d like you to know before we see you today!

We are so thrilled to have you participate in this collective celebration of the beauty and brilliance that is our city. SOMOS ABQ, Albuquerque, Burque! We. ARE. ALBUQUERQUE… every unique expression of it… so thank you for being a part of shining a light on all the good we know this place to be.

Here’s some things we’d like you to know before we see you today!

Spirit of SOMOS
When you enter SOMOS, we ask that you enter from an orientation of respect and love for our city and all the gifts within it. Our artists, collaborators, vendors and producers have spent many months and long hours preparing this day for you and we ask that you especially be respectful of others and the spaces around you. Please be gentle with installations and pick up after yourself. This is also an intergenerational and diverse abilities event– let’s be mindful of all.

Where is the Entrance?
We are on Civic Plaza and the surrounding area: 1 Civic Plaza NW, Albuquerque NM 87102. The Main Entrance is located at the entrance to Civic Plaza on 3rd Street between Tijeras and Marquette. You can enter from Tijeras or Marquette though beware of the barricades as the path you take my not be a straight shot to this intersections!

How to make your way to the party:
There are plentiful paid and unpaid parking spaces around the Downtown Area. There are also SPIN scooters around town. If that doesn’t work for you, an Uber, Lyft and Handicap drop off zone is dedicated right near our entrance just east of Tijeras & 4th. You can also use city transportation as all weekend lines are open. We recommend carpooling– stick with your buddy!

Shuttles to and from New Mexico United
If you’re going in on a full #SOMOSsaturday and cheering on New Mexico United vs. Phoenix Rising FC at 7:30pm, a shuttle is available on the hour from Isotopes park at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm,, 9pm and 10pm. We have incredibly daytime performances and activations we don’t want you to miss.  If you are bringing a bag larger than 10x10in please not you will be transferred into a bag check line that may take longer than those will small packs. Take note of which line you’re in– GA, Strollers Wheelchair & Bagcheck, or VIP Expedited Entry. All guests will be wanded, bag checked, and wristbanded. Trash & Waste
At SOMOS, we want to take care of our space and our land. Many of our food and drink vendors are using compostable and recyclable materials. Our friends and partners at Knowaste are providing waste sorting stations around SOMOS to ensure that we divert as much waste as possible from landfills. Please join us in this mission by disposing of your waste at the visible Knowaste stations around the festival, we thank you in advance!

Drink Responsibly
On that note, we are so excited to have so many of Albuquerque’s BEST Breweries & Distilleries in the mix! We ask that you please drink responsible and notify any security if you see someone who needs help. You may be asked at certain intersections to empty your alcoholic beverage before you cross– this is because of liquor permitting– please help us comply so we can do it again next year! And please stay hydrated by visiting the U.S. Eagle Hydration Station on Civic Plaza!

Dance Responsibly!
Watch your step with uneven ground and wear comfortable shoes so we can boogie the night away without issues. However, EMS are on site if any issues should arise. Please notify a security or staff personnel if a guest needs medical attention.
