2026 Festival Lineup

Jess and Leigh met while attending Artist INC, a professional development class for New Mexico based artists that was taught at the Hispanic Cultural Center in 2025. Bonding over their love of fiber art and ambitions to create larger, more public bodies of work, they made it a mission to make their dreams come alive together by collaborating. They created Pomegranate Studio ABQ later that year and are beyond excited to create art in the inspiring space where they first met.

James Black is an artist, performer, and small business owner of Downtown ABQ’s 111 Media Collective and T-Shirt Lab, a community printing studio and shop. He works with animated visuals, projected visual mapping, and light based artworks. Recently he received a scholarship via City of ABQ Public Art to study the Internet of Things at CNM, where he learned about fusing art and technology via coding to microcontrollers, node based software, laser cutting and 3-D printing. He’s fortunate to have been selected for many public art projects and looks to further his identity and career as a multidisciplinary public artist. He continues to serve his community as a mentor and educator, including with the Mayor’s Creative Youth Corps, Warehouse 505, Amy Biehl High School, and more!

Toutes Les Fillex is a collectivex founded by Kate Kacou. Kate has been evoking feelings since 2005 with “artwork” and in 2020, began a body of work using chains and found objects to visualize her concerns about the disappearances of women and girls, and the unending attempts to silence and disbelieve our voices. TLFX operates under the ethos of low-trace reversible beautification. Kacou created TLFX as an umbrella for her daughters, herselves, and her friends- known and unknown-‘s- free, golden expression. The collectivex is designed for nomadic membership, with a priori on fostering emerging artists and creating give away culture.

Myriam Tapp is an artist living and working in Albuquerque. She received a BFA from Concordia University in Montreal (2006) and an MFA from the University of New Mexico (2012). Her artwork has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, the United States.

Jessica Venzor is a Mexican-American surrealist artist based in Albuquerque, painting and building worlds for the past 15 years. Their work lives at the intersection of desert and sea, culture and magic, humor and reverence. They use oil, acrylic, paper-mâché, and light to create colorful, immersive pieces inspired by Mexican flora, aquatic life, and spiritual symbolism. They’re drawn to putting things where they don’t belong and enjoy finding beauty, laughter, and connection there.

Fractal Foundation uses the beauty of fractals to inspire interest in science, math and art. Their vision is for a world of wonder and curiosity, a culture of scientific inquiry, an appreciation of the interconnectedness of natural systems and an understanding of their essential nonlinearity. They see a world where everyone is mathematically literate and has a grasp of how math is a powerful tool to help turn their visions into reality. They use large-scale public art to advertise the beauty of math and science and to showcase the creativity and intelligence of young people. They’re out to inspire the world with the lessons of the fractals, chaos theory and the Butterfly Effect – that small differences can lead to big outcomes, and that any of us has the power to change the world. Founded in 2003, they’ve taught fractals to over 69,000 children and 55,000 adults!
